Equipped with the right applications, a computer can be of great help in virtually any domain of activity. When it comes to designing and precision, no other tool is as accurate as a computer. Moreover, specialized applications such as AutoCAD give you the possibility to design nearly anything ranging from art, to complex mechanical parts or even buildings.
Suitable for business environments and experienced users
After a decent amount of time spent installing the application on your system, you are ready to fire it up. Thanks to the office suite like interface, all of its features are cleverly organized in categories. At a first look, it looks easy enough to use, but the abundance of features it comes equipped with leaves room for second thoughts.
Create 2D and 3D objects
You can make use of basic geometrical shapes to define your objects, as well as draw custom ones. Needless to say that you can take advantage of a multitude of tools that aim to enhance precision. A grid can be enabled so that you can easily snap elements, as well as adding anchor points to fully customize shapes.
With a little imagination and patience on your behalf, nearly anything can be achieved. Available tools allow you to create 3D objects from scratch and have them fully enhanced with high-quality textures. A powerful navigation pane is put at your disposal so that you can carefully position the camera to get a clearer view of the area of interest.
Various export possibilities
Similar to a modern web browser, each project is displayed in its own tab. This comes in handy, especially for comparison views. Moreover, layouts and layers also play important roles, as it makes objects handling a little easier.
Sine the application is not the easiest to carry around, requiring a slightly sophisticated machine to properly run, there are several export options put at your disposal so that the projects itself can be moved around.
Aside from the application specific format, you can save as an image file of multiple types, PDF, FBX and a few more. Additionally, it can be sent via email, directly printed out on a sheet of paper, or even sent to a 3D printing service, if available.
To end with
All in all, AutoCAD remains one of the top applications used by professionals to achieve great precision with projects of nearly any type. It encourages usage with incredible offers for student licenses so you get acquainted with its abundance of features early on. A lot can be said about what it can and can't do, but the true surprise lies in discovering it step-by-step.

AutoCAD is currently available for Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems. It has long been the most popular professional vector graphics application, in part because of its extensive features.
AutoCAD is designed for drafting, that is, the representation and drawing of objects. AutoCAD supports 2D and 3D (or solid geometry) drawing and has numerous specialized features for creating architectural drawings, mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and industrial, mechanical, and architectural designs. It provides many design tools including 3D modeling, 2D drafting, and 2D and 3D annotation. It is also useful for 2D drafting and editing of drawings for optical measuring, printing, and converting of drawings.
AutoCAD was originally developed as an internal tool by the AutoCAD Division of The Scott Foresman Corporation. That division was eventually spun off into a separate company in June 1986. Subsequently, other companies acquired The Scott Foresman Corporation. The first product developed for the new division was AutoCAD. In 1987, AutoCAD was first released as a desktop app and became the company’s flagship product.
AutoCAD has a feature called “navigation” which allows the user to automatically follow the path of a vector line onscreen, with a computer mouse. The user can also drag objects around to reposition them. The user can also use a keyboard shortcut to toggle the AutoCAD cursor between “follow the line” and “selection mode”, and thereby navigate the 2D drawing.
Autodesk has since expanded the product line to include a range of other products including AutoCAD LT, which is designed specifically for the construction and industrial markets. There are also products designed for architectural and engineering companies.
One of the first uses of AutoCAD was for technical illustration. The ability of a designer or drafter to create realistic drawings quickly is what has made AutoCAD so popular. For example, AutoCAD has the ability to automatically trace over 3D objects, such as cylinders, spheres, and cubes. It is possible to rotate a model and trace the rotating object. Another feature is that it is possible to “ink” a wireframe drawing so that it will be viewed as though it was drawn with pen and ink. If the user selects the Inkscape tool, a sketch-like outline will be displayed for the user to further edit.
Other features of AutoCAD include

Drivers for the AutoCAD software are available for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. AutoCAD has a concurrent version that enables multi-user and multi-tasking. It also supports the ability to suspend or shutdown a running instance. AutoCAD can be installed on an x86 or a x64 machine.
The office of the Program Manager for AutoCAD is the Autodesk Customer Advocacy team.
AutoCAD is available for free on the Windows Store and as an online version in the application store. AutoCAD is also available for purchase through the Autodesk site.
AutoCAD has many functions that can be used, depending on the type of project, to complete a design project. Some functions, such as surface area, topology, and plan check are for internal use. Some functions can be used without an active license, while some can only be used with an active license.
AutoCAD 2016 adds more functions that can be used to speed up and automate the design of a project, such as the ability to automatically place floor or roof joists and beams. AutoCAD can generate 2D and 3D floor plans, elevations, sections, and schedules.
Special 3D symbols in AutoCAD are used for shading and calculating properties like volume.
AutoCAD can import, manipulate, and output DWG, DWF, and DXF files. To import a drawing into AutoCAD, the user must first create a DWG, DWF, or DXF file. Once the file is created, it is then imported into AutoCAD.
AutoCAD 2016 adds the ability to search DWG files for the use of certain AutoCAD symbols. The user can search for a symbol from one file, and if it is found, it will be automatically incorporated into the new file being created.
There are a variety of functions available to help the user create a drawing, some of which are:
Creation of a 2D drawing using drawing templates and guides
Creation of 2D and 3D drawings using a variety of 2D and 3D modeling options
Visual creation of 3D drawings using a variety of 3D modeling options
Creation of 2D and 3D drawings and drafting
Creation of drawing layouts and schedules
Creation of XREF tables
Creation of BOMs
Creation of forms, labels, sheets, windows

MySQL Server is not accessible from network
I recently setup a new server and configured MySQL on it.
I started the server and copied the my.cnf file over to my old server and was able to access MySQL, however, after a while the old server became inoperable and now I cannot access MySQL from outside the server.
I ran mysql_upgrade and did not see any errors.
MySQL version: 5.1.73
Server version: 5.1.73 Source distribution.
MySQL is setup to listen only to local IP addresses. You should set your server’s TCP/IP listen option to 0.0.0.0, or all available IP addresses. It will then listen on all available TCP/IP end points.
I am not sure if you were able to access MySQL from the old server because the old server had its own IP address, or if you were able to access the old server because you were able to access the old MySQL instance via your new server’s IP address. If you can access your old server, then I’d guess that you are able to access it via your new
